Gifts Purchased on Walmart.com

You can easily send a gift to someone.

Purchasing a Gift

Purchasing A Gift

  1. Add an item to your cart.
  2. Check the box labeled This order is a gift.
    • This means we'll:
      • Hide prices
      • Ship items in a Walmart box
      • Email the recipient with your gift message
      • Include a digital gift receipt for all gift items
  3. Select the Delivery option (if you select the Pickup option, the pickup items will not be eligible for gifting).
  4. Enter and confirm the recipient's address.
  5. Enter and confirm the recipient's email address.
Note: You may enter your own email address if you do not know the recipient's email, but this means the recipient will not receive your customized gift message, which is the only way they will know who gave them a gift.
  6. Add a customized gift message.
  7. Select a payment method.
  8. Review and place the order.

The gift receiver will receive two emails:

First email:

  • Information on when the gift will arrive
  • The name of the gift giver
  • A link to track the order

Second email

  • The name of the gift giver
  • Details about the gift
  • Instructions on how to return the gift
  • A link to return the gift
  • The return receipt

How do I return a gift if I shipped it to myself before giving the gift in-person?

In this case, the gift sender will have to get a gift receipt online and share it with the recipient.

  2. Select Track Orders.
  3. Select See Details (next to the gift order).
On the Order Details page, select the Get Gift Receipts link for options to share a link with the recipient or download a PDF version of the receipt.
